    Producer

The Château Rauzan-Ségla vineyard covers 60 hectares of clay-limestone soils, which promote excellent drainage and optimal grape ripening. The diversity of grape varieties cultivated allows for the production of highly complex wines, combining power and finesse. The temperate climate of the Bordeaux region, with hot summers and mild winters, contributes to the exceptional quality of the grapes. The carefully planted vines receive meticulous attention throughout their growth cycle, ensuring the production of wines of great elegance.

    Owner and history

Currently, Château Rauzan-Ségla is owned by the Champagne house Chanel, which acquired the estate in 1994. This acquisition brought new energy while respecting the château's winemaking heritage. The current owners are committed to preserving the estate's authenticity while integrating sustainable practices. Chanel's dedication to quality is reflected in every bottle of Ségla, making this wine a true ambassador of Bordeaux excellence.

    Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Rauzan-Ségla is a meticulous process that begins with the hand-harvesting of the grapes, ensuring rigorous selection. After careful sorting, the grapes are destemmed and gently crushed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing for optimal temperature management. Aging in oak barrels, some of which are new, lasts approximately 12 months, imparting subtle aromas of vanilla and toast to the wine. This traditional method, combined with modern techniques, reveals the full richness and complexity of the terroir.
