The Château Rauzan-Ségla vineyard covers approximately 50 hectares, with vines planted in gravelly, clay-limestone soils typical of the Margaux appellation. This unique terroir, combined with an oceanic climate, allows the grapes to ripen slowly, developing complex aromas and a beautiful acidity. The vines, averaging 25 to 30 years old, are cultivated using environmentally friendly methods to preserve biodiversity and soil quality. Each plot is vinified separately to fully express the potential of this exceptional terroir.

    Owner and history

Château Rauzan-Ségla is currently owned by the luxury fashion house Chanel, which acquired the estate in 1994. Under their management, the château has undergone a renaissance, blending winemaking tradition with modern innovations. The owners are committed to sustainability, implementing responsible farming practices and investing in advanced winemaking techniques. Their passion for wine and respect for the Bordeaux terroir are reflected in every bottle of Ségla, making this wine a true ambassador for the Margaux appellation.

    Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Rauzan-Ségla is carried out with meticulous care. The grapes are harvested by hand and rigorously sorted to guarantee quality. After gentle destemming, the berries are placed in vats for controlled fermentation, allowing for a gentle extraction of tannins. Aging takes place in oak barrels, some of which are new, for 12 to 15 months. This process allows the wine to develop its aromatic complexity while subtly integrating the oak notes, thus offering a perfect balance between fruit and structure.
