    Description

THE Brut Millésimé 2018 The Deutz house is the classic and balanced expression of the style of the house of Aÿ, restoring the generosity and solar maturity of the year 2018 while retaining the chalky tension and straightness that characterize its winemaking.

In Champagne, 2018 was an early year, remarkably warm and generous in both volume and phenolic maturity. Where some champagnes may have suffered from a slight lack of freshness, Deutz has managed to preserve a true backbone thanks to its dominance of great Pinot Noir grapes from the Montagne de Reims and the Vallée de la Marne.associated with the finely crafted Chardonnays of the Côte des Blancs.

    Notes and pairings

    Tasting notes

The wine, a luminous gold, is enlivened by a fine and persistent effervescence. The nose reveals a sun-drenched world: mirabelle plum, apricot, and ripe peach are enriched with subtle spicy and smoky nuances. The fresh attack reveals a beautiful concentration of yellow fruits, supported by a full and harmonious structure. The texture gains depth, leading to a clean and persistent finish that reveals all the finesse of the Grands Crus.

    Food & wine pairings

This vintage is an ideal accompaniment to cuisine with spicy accents: shoulder of lamb with mild spices, delicately caramelized poultry, tagine with dried fruit — the notes of cinnamon, honey and candied fruit responding to the depth of the wine.

Over time, Deutz has cultivated an increasingly respectful approach to Nature and its gifts: the porous white chalk that imparts its champagnes their distinctive minerality, and the ever-changing seasons of the vineyard, each unique in its own way. Today, this approach is embodied in a vision founded on sustainable viticulture and a deeper commitment than ever to the Champagne terroir, driven by a patient relationship with the natural rhythms of time, the House's primary requirement. A conversion to living, breathing wines, undertaken with conviction.

    Owner and history

Founded in Aÿ in 1838, Maison Deutz is one such winery, bearing witness to a boundless love for its terroir, its expertise, and the transmission of winemaking techniques continually reinvented. A House of Champagne Open to the world, its unique character has been shaped by nearly two centuries of exacting standards and independence. Faithful to its original spirit, it produces precise, balanced, and luminous champagnes, crafted with patience and precision in the cool silence of its "cradles"—three kilometers of chalk cellars that offer each vintage the conditions for exceptional aging. For this is the vocation of Maison Deutz: to cultivate an art of living where every champagne accurately reveals the quintessence of the great Champagne terroirs...

    The team's opinion

The 2018 vintage stands out for its beautiful harmony between rich, rounded character and refreshing crispness. Particularly approachable and expressive upon release thanks to its roundness, it will improve harmoniously over 6 to 10 years (2025–2034), developing aromas of dried fruit and quince paste.
