The Pira Luigi vineyard is a verdant haven overlooking the Serralunga d'Alba hills. The Nebbiolo vines, averaging 30 years old, flourish in clay-limestone soils rich in minerals, which give the wines their structure and complexity. climat The temperate climate, with hot summers and cold winters, promotes a slow and balanced ripening of the grapes. The sustainable viticulture practiced here respects the environment and allows for the production of high-quality bunches, where each grape tells the story of its terroir.

Owner and history

Today, the domaine is managed by Luigi Pira, who inherited the family passion for winemaking. With many years of experience, he has modernized certain practices while remaining true to the traditions for which Barolo is renowned. His commitment to quality and respect for the terroir are evident in every bottle. Luigi Pira's mission is to pass on the family legacy while continuing to explore the nuances of his terroir, in order to produce wines that tell the story of their origin.

Vinification and aging

The Barolo Vignarionda is made using traditional methods, with fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. After extended maceration, the wine is aged in oak barrels for 24 to 30 months. This aging process allows the oak aromas to integrate harmoniously while preserving the purity of the fruit. Bottling is done unfiltered to retain all its aromatic richness. This meticulous process, combined with cellar aging, results in a wine that is both powerful and elegant, ready to reveal its full potential over the years.
