Owner and history

Born in 1848 from the division of the Mac-Carthy family estates, the Château Haut-Marbuzet experienced the beginning of its glory in 1952, when Hervé Duboscq became its owner. It continued in 1988, when her son Henri bought the Château Mac-Carthy, nestled within its local area. It was completed in 1997, when the renovated vineyard reached its ideal age. From then on, these two magnificent estates became one. The Mac-Carthy brand was used to market the wines from the younger vines.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Haut-Marbuzet is a meticulous process. The carefully selected grapes are destemmed and crushed before being placed in stainless steel tanks. Alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, allowing for the extraction of color and aromas while preserving freshness. After fermentation, the wine is transferred to oak barrels for aging for several months, promoting the integration of tannins and the development of oaky nuances. This traditional method, combined with careful monitoring, results in wines of great finesse and beautiful complexity.
