The Côte Chalonaise is a sub-region of the Burgundy appellation. The following appellations can be produced here: Bourgogne, Coteaux Bourguignons, Bourgogne Aligoté, Bourgogne Passe-Tout-Grain, Bourgogne Mousseux, and Crémant de Bourgogne. The appellation lies between the Côte de Beaune and the Mâconnais, on gentle hillsides. Wine has been produced in this region since Roman times, before experiencing a revival in the 19th century.
