The Château L'Evangile vineyard stretches across clay-gravel soils, typical of the Pomerol region. These sun-drenched lands allow the vines to flourish. The old vines, some over 40 years old, offer limited but high-quality yields. This exceptional terroir, combined with a temperate oceanic climate, gives the grapes optimal ripeness, essential for producing wines of such complexity and elegance.

Owner and history

Château L'Evangile is currently owned by the Rothschild Group, which has preserved the family heritage while bringing a modern vision to the estate. The current owners, passionate about the art of winemaking, are committed to respecting the terroir and the environment. Their dedication to excellence is reflected in sustainable viticultural practices, aimed at producing quality wines while preserving the vineyard's biodiversity.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château L'Evangile is a meticulous process. The grapes are harvested by hand, ensuring rigorous selection of the bunches. After careful destemming, the grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled vats to preserve the freshness of the aromas. Aging takes place in oak barrels, some of which are new, for 12 to 18 months. This process allows the oak to subtly integrate into the wine, while respecting the expression of the fruit and the terroir.
