The vineyard of Château Latour It covers 78 hectares, with vines planted in gravelly soil, which promotes optimal drainage and excellent grape ripening. climat The region's oceanic climate, influenced by the proximity of the Gironde estuary, allows for a harmonious development of the grape varieties. The vines, averaging 40 years old, are cultivated with care, and each plot is vinified separately to preserve the expression of its unique terroir.

Owner and history

Since 1993, the Château Latour is owned by the family holding company of François Pinault, a wine and art enthusiast. Under his direction, the domaine has successfully combined respect for tradition with modern winemaking techniques. This approach allows them to extract the best from the terroir, while preserving the historical identity of Latour. The current owners continue to promote excellence, ensuring that each bottle reflects the expertise and passion that drive the domaine.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Latour It is a meticulous process, combining tradition and innovation. The grapes are carefully hand-sorted before being destemmed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing for precise temperature control. Aging occurs in oak barrels, the majority of which are new, for 18 to 24 months. This care taken at each stage guarantees wines of great complexity and excellent longevity.
