Coteaux Varois en Provence is a superb appellation in the heart of the limestone region of Provence. Since 1993, 28 communes have been authorized to produce wine under this prestigious appellation. Brignoles, the former summer residence of the Counts of Provence, is the historical center of this AOC, which extends across the surrounding basins and valleys. The terrain is very rugged, with peaks reaching 1,000 meters in altitude on the Saint-Beaune massif. This topography contributes to the continental climate: mild autumns and springs, while dry summers and winters. The appellation covers 2,633 hectares and produces 17 million bottles, of which 90% is rosé, 7% red, and 3% white. Within all three colors, one finds true tasting treasures. The wines reveal a distinctly Provençal character in distinctive vintages, bursting with fruit and pleasure!
