The Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation is located on the Right Bank, straddling two communes: Lalande-de-Pomerol and Néac. It is an AOC that produces exclusively red wines , made from Merlot blended with Cabernet Franc , Cabernet Sauvignon , or Malbec . It is separated from Pomerol by a stream, the Barbanne.

It's a rather heterogeneous appellation: on the Lalande-de-Pomerol side, the land is quite flat, with a gravelly subsoil, while on the Néac side, the terrain is more pronounced and the soil is sandy and gravelly. This results in different wines, sometimes fruity and meant to be drunk young, sometimes structured, closer to Pomerol, which will need a few years to open up.

    The Flower of Boüard

Château La Fleur de Boüard has belonged to Hubert de Boüard de Laforest, also owner of Château Angélus , and his children since 1998. They produce three wines on this 25-hectare vineyard: Le Plus, La Fleur, and Le Lion.

Le Plus is produced from the estate's oldest vines, averaging 60 years old. This pure Merlot wine is aged for 33 months in French oak barrels. It is refined, fresh, balanced, and very elegant.

La Fleur de Boüard is the flagship wine, made from vines approximately 25 years old. It is a blend of Merlot , Cabernet Franc , and Cabernet Sauvignon , which is then aged for 18 to 24 months in oak barrels. It has a deep, intense color, and the nose and palate are very fruity with a lovely finish.

Finally, Le Lion is the Château's second wine , made from younger vines. As with its older siblings, it is aged in French oak barrels for 12 to 33 months. It then reveals itself to be smooth, intense, and fruity. It therefore pairs very well with braised beef.
