The château remained in the family until 1928, when it was finally bought byMaurice BlancThe estate has remained in the family ever since, with the 5th generation gradually taking over from its elder sibling.

    Viticulture between tradition and modernity

    The 13 hectares of the vineyardChâteau Deyrem Valentinhave aexceptional terroir, typical of the appellationMargaux, composed ofdeep gravelThe vines that flourish there have an average age of around thirty years and are entirely tended by hand. Indeed, therespect for the environmentBeing very important in the philosophy of Château Deyrem Valentin, everything from pruning and shoot thinning to leaf removal and harvesting is done entirely by hand. Moreover, regarding the harvest, every effort is made to obtain the best possible grapes in order to produce wines of exceptional quality.high qualityThus, in order to obtain optimal grape ripeness, each plot undergoes leaf thinning and controlled green harvesting. Once harvested, the grapes are sorted twice to retain only the best.2013An investment was also made withthe purchase of a new grape harvest receptionwhich allows for an even more rigorous selection of the berries, sorting the bunches berry by berry. This makes it possible to produce wines that are ever more elegant, refined and full of incredible aromatic richness.

    The 13 hectares ofChâteau Deyrem Valentinare planted with typical Bordeaux grape varieties. Merlot is indeed the main grape variety, along with Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, and Petit Verdot. The decision was made to harvest and thenvinify each plot individuallyin temperature-controlled vats, allowing each plot to express its own personality. Once alcoholic and malolactic fermentations are complete, an initial blend is made before aging in barrels. The final blends are created before bottling, approximately two years after the harvest, around May or June. When the time comes to taste the wines of Château Deyrem Valentin, you will discover aexceptional vintage, with an intense character and incredible finesse and elegance. Moreover, they perfectly reflect the understated nature of the appellationMargauxto which they belong, remaining worthy, year after year, of the titleCru Bourgeoiswhich is assigned to them.
