94/100 pts RP : " Highlighting the village of Aÿ, a key municipality in Bollinger's distinctive style , The wine rises from the glass with aromas of golden orchard fruits, honeycomb, buttered toast, freshly baked bread, and dried white flowers. Full-bodied and vinous, with a generous fruit core supported by lively acidity and enlivened by an elegant and precise mousse, this smooth and charming Champagne concludes with a chalky finish. A truly beautiful achievement! William Kelley
92/100 pts VINOUS: " The combination of a very warm base vintage and a high proportion of reserve wines results in a Champagne of remarkable complexity and texture. – Antonio Galloni
This champagne is a Blanc de Noirs, meaning it's 100% Pinot Noir. It's a single-village champagne: the grapes come from the only village of Aÿ. It's a champagne of character where the aromatic richness of this grape variety is expressed with depth and elegance. Based on the 2018 vintage (53%) and supplemented by 47% reserve wines A large portion of the wine comes from Bollinger's renowned reserve magnums (in this case, a 2009 Pinot Noir from Verzenay), while the 2018 vintage was vinified half in oak barrels and half in tanks. The dosage is 6 grams per liter, but the overall impression is of a slightly drier style.
